Monokini made by Kristel Salgarollo
MATERIALS:
20 inches fabric with stripes if your stripes are close together (template B)
4 inches of 10 matching fabrics (template A)
6 inches for the little hearts (template C)
Eventually from the same fabric as the hearts 12 inches more for the finishing off (*)
PROCEDURE:
THE MEASURES ARE EXCLUSIVE SEAM ALLOWANCE!!!!!!!
This quilt consists of 19 hexagons (model 1). It’s easy to make but you have to pay attention at the cutting.
Cut from the fabric with stripes 114x template B.
Work your template in paterno and draw your stripe pattern on the template so you can be sure that the design is always situated the same. It’s very important when you put everything together the lines continue nice, this will give the special effect.
Cut the other pieces (template A) but do it block by block!!!!!

Cut your first hexagon the way you want. You are using 6 different fabrics. From then, make sure that where the pieces meet, they are cut from the same fabric. Maybe it’s better while you are cutting to place the blocks open in front of you.
On the design you see a distribution of colors but finally you choose your own colors.
Sew the first blocks together and then applique the heart. Immediately sew the finished blocks together.
QUILTING --------
FINISHING OFF
I have finished the quilt with a usual binding but this is very hard at the corners.
* It’s easier when before quilting the outer border, to cut your batting 0.1-inch smaller and folding the front and backing together and sew it with an invisible stitch together.
Good luck!
