As I was telling you, I love to improvise when I construct my landscape.
Here is a good example about my “improvisation”.
I created “Tahuata 2011” just for you at Sewn Europe and let me explain you how I made it, hoping you’ll like it!

Tahuata 2011
Step 1

I always start working on my design wall, just “throwing” some pieces on the white sheet; I look at them from a distance and if I like what I see, I go on
Step 2

Now I can start adding more fabrics, why not try to fill the center first, it’s definitely too empty and I can’t foresee what will happen otherwise
Step 3

I like the result, I am almost there, now I need to fill the blanks!
Step 4

I find that I need to add some colour, I have enough blacks and light colours, so why not to try some turquoise? Yes, that’s it, I like it! I can now add the last pieces and I will be all done
Step 5

I am going to fill the corners with larger pieces of fabric, in light green, particularly the upper and bottom left sides and I can put the three layers together and quilt my new landscape that I name “Tahuata””.
